Finally Lugulu Girls get their KCSE results after delay
The 2024 KCSE results for Lugulu Girls High School in Bungoma County, Kenya, were finally released after an unexpected delay. The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) withheld the results due to suspected irregularities, which sparked anxiety among students, parents, and the school community. KNEC conducted a thorough review, investigating potential malpractices, which included possible discrepancies or missing marks. This review was part of a broader scrutiny affecting multiple schools nationwide.
The school’s principal, Dinah Cheruiyot, had assured stakeholders that the issue was being addressed through official appeal channels. Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa also intervened, communicating with Education CS Julius Ogamba to clarify the situation, reassuring that the results were not cancelled but withheld for verification. The delay, although causing significant distress, was resolved when KNEC confirmed the integrity of the examinations, allowing for the eventual release of the results.
