KQ advises travelers to check in 4 hours at JKIA
Kenya Airways has advised its customers to check in at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport at least four hours before when they are scheduled traveling time. The advisory by the airline comes after the Genz Z led demonstrators announced on various social media platforms that they intend to occupy JKIA on Tuesday the 23rd of July which will without a doubt disrupt major roads leading to the airport. With the anticipated disruptions to the airport then many travelers are likely to miss their flights by delays to the airport. This accouncement was made through a letter they posted on the X account https://x.com/KenyaAirways .
The airline also apologized for the inconveniences that are likely to occur due to the traffic disruptions as well as the heightened security checks and protocols put in place at the country’s busiest and largest airport. The management of JKIA under the Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) also gave their clients the same directive on the X account.
The Kenyan Gen Z are demanding accountability and decent governance in larger anti-government demonstrations that began as protests against the Finance Bill 2024. Although the protests were first focused on Nairobi’s central business area, they have now moved to JKIA. Kenya Airways and KAA are expecting major disruptions, which is why they have issued advisories to clients who have scheduled flights at JKIA.
