DPP Announces Job Vacancies

The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has advertised 30 posts for its 2025 pupillage programme. Interested candidates (law graduates) are asked to submit their applications by January 24th. 

Requirements include:

  • Graduated with a law degree within the last three years
  • Certificate of good conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI)
  • Recommendation letter from Kenya School of Law (KSL)

According to the national law authority, successful candidates will be on a six-month contract and receive a KSh 15,000 stipend monthly. To apply, interested candidates should visit their respective website and for further details.

Leaders Celebrate Raila Odinga’s Birthday

Leaders from all walks of life joined his Excellency former Prime Minister Raila Odinga in celebrating his 80th birthday yesterday, Tuesday, January 7th.

Raila Odinga was born January 7, 1945 in Maseno, Kenya. He is a world known businessman and politician who served as Prime Minister of Kenya from 2008 to 2013.

There was widespread congratulations on social media from fellow leaders, politicians, and his supporters. The hashtag #HappyBirthdayRaila was trending with heartfelt messages for the strongman.

The goodwill of Kenyans and its leaders was evident as they wished him well in the African Union Chairmanship elections slated for February 2024.

Ruto Travels To Ghana For Inauguration

President William Ruto was among other African dignitaries who attended the swearing-in ceremony of Ghana’s new President John Dramani Mahama. The ceremony was held at the iconic Black Star Square in Accra, on Tuesday.

The two met in Kenya last December, where Mahama invited Ruto to the event during his trip to Kenya on December 29.

The two nations would focus on trade and investment, agriculture, mining, tourism, and oil and gas.

“President Ruto is also set to discuss reforms of the African Union and thank Ghana for supporting Kenya’s candidate – former Prime Minister Raila Odinga – for the African Union Commission” (AUC) chairperson position, government spokesperson Mohamed said in a press statement.

Mahama won the presidential election last month with 56% of the vote. He was also a former President of the West African country from 2012 to 2017.

Endarasha Hillside School Reopens

Hillside Endarasha Academy in Nyeri has reopened its doors in 2025 following its indefinite closure last year. This comes only 3 months after a razing fire that claimed the lives of over 20 students.

The school is resuming operations for a new academic year 2025, but under new guidelines. It is now functioning fully as a day school, and done away with boarding facilities that housed over 300 students.

The Ministry of Education thoroughly inspected the school and gave it a go-ahead to resume operations. Parents and teachers are optimistic about the upcoming academic year, are confident about its performances in the national exams, putting everything in the past.

KEMRI Human DNA Identification Laboratory (HID) is a leading laboratory in the provision of DNA testing services in the region.

On its social media, they updated the following:

A DNA paternity test uses deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) is taken from a cheek swab to determine a child’s biological father (non-birthing parent).
