Bernice Nunah and content creator Flaqo put OPPO Kenya brand on blast, on social media, for claims of failing to pay them for their work on the Reno12 series campaign.

The 2 influencers accused OPPO Kenya and AIfluence (an influencer marketing agency) of failing to compensate them for creating 3 month’s worth of content, in 2 weeks, for the brand. This is after Flaqo and his team attended OPPO Kenya’s AI event in August 2024 and had a contractual agreement. Five months later, they have received no compensation.
OPPO Kenya has responded saying it had fulfilled all financial obligations to AIfluence, and that it did not have any agreements with the creators. OPPO has also moved to court to now seek legal address against AIfluence, citing defamation and brand damage caused by it’s failure to pay influencers.

Two Kibabii University Students Arrested for Impersonating EACC Directors
According to the Ethic and Anti Corruption Commision (EACC) CEO statement, Tobias Singila Wekesa, 23, and Sharon Nanjala Anyango, 26, were arrested in Bungoma where they masqueraded as EACC officers and taking bribes.
Wekesa is a continuing third-year student at Kibabii University, while his accomplice, graduate from the same institution in 2024. Wekesa claimed to be the Director of EACC Kakamega County, and Anyango, a senior director based at EACC Nairobi. They were arrested in Bungoma, NG-CDF offices, where they were demanding a Kshs 150,000, after inspecting local development projects.
The 2 are datained at Bungoma Central Police Station awaiting charges. The Commission has urged Kenyans to remain vigilant and report any cases of fraud through its social media platforms and free toll numbers.

Roots Party of Kenya Demands a Kshs 10M Compensation From Ojijo
The Roots Party of Kenya has taken to task Kepher Ojijo, for posing as the party’s Secretary General, despite having no legitimate authority or official role within the party. According to the party leadership, Ojijo has consistently mislead the public, for over two years, appearing in media interviews and forums.
Through their advocate, Ojijo is being held liable for all costs incurred in the legal proceedings and damages arising from his alleged misrepresentation amounting to Kshs 10M. The demand letter is also instructing Ojijo to publicly retract his claims and issue an apology across all media platforms.
“All I have ever done is articulate the Roots Party’s position in good faith. You could have just clarified my position and corrected the misinformation on Facebook and social media. It is well.” wrote Ojijo, in reaction to the party’s demands.
The Wajackoya-led party has given a seven-day ultimatum for Ojijo to comply with their demands or face legal action.
