In a radio interview with Musyi FM, today, Rigathi was asked whether he was open to joining hands with Odinga in his alliance.

“I do not understand Raila’s intentions; it is his choice, depending on whether he wants to be with Ruto and water down his political legacy or on the side of liberating this country,” he replied.

“Ruto is not getting a vote from the 9M Kenyan Gen Zs, so whether Raila is with him or not, we will defeat him. Kenyans have already decided Ruto must go home and want a new government that serves them.”

The former DP is planning a new political outfit but has remained tight-lipped on the details. He says the motive currently is to mobilise Kenyans to register as voters and have not discussed a possible 2027 flagbearer.

After the AU Chairmanship loss, Raila promised to announce his next political move after a recent closed-door meeting with Ruto at State House Mombasa.

Gachaguaso far met Kalonzo Musyoka of Wiper, Martha Karua of People’s Liberation Party (PLP) and the Democratic Action Party of Kenya (DAP-K)’s Eugene Wamalwa, among other smaller parties.

IEBC Audit Reports Shows  200 KIEMS Kits Missing

Kenya’s election body, IEBC, procured 59,100 Kenya Integrated Election Management System (KIEMS) kits between 2017 and 2022, according to the records. As we speak, only 55,286 kits are remaining.

KIEMS kits are equipped with software for results transmission and contain biometric voter data. Their disappearance is a potential security risk and could be exploited by persons seeking to manipulate future elections.

Only 2 kits were reported missing, 30 were burned in Wajir during election-related violence in 2022, and 159 others, dispatched for by-elections, were never returned. By 2023, 256 kits from Nyeri were yet to be returned to HQ, 5 more were reported lost, and an additional 158 had been declared missing in earlier audits. Over 4,000 kits cannot be accounted for.

Over 250, 000 Canadians have signed a petition to revoke billionaire Elon Musk’s Canadian citizenship as tensions between USA and Canada take a new twist.

The petition, which opened five days ago, accuses Musk of undermining Canada’s sovereignty. It further claims that the billionaire “has used his wealth and power to influence our elections” and “has now become a member of a foreign government that is attempting to erase Canadian sovereignty”.

Elon was born in South Africa but holds Canadian citizenship, through his mother, who was born in Saskatchewan. He is an American citizen.

The petition remains open for signatures until 20 June. Responding to the petition, the Tesla owner tweeted on X: “Canada is not a real country.” The post was later deleted.
