UEFA to adopt Special technology for draws
After a lot of criticisms from fans, players, and clubs, UEFA, the managing body of football activities in Europe has now come up with a new way of drawing teams for groups and round of 16 levels. The UEFA Champions League, one of football’s most popular events, is set to undergo an extensive makeover in 2024–2025 with reports on its website UEFA.com announcing that the competition will change from its current group stage format to a league-style model. While players and fans have had differing opinions about this move, UEFA has recently released information about the Champions League draw procedure. A statement on its website states that software would be used for the draw of the UEFA Champions League’s forthcoming edition. This marks a big change from the customary draw ceremony, where prominent players would usually choose the teams who would face off in the group stage.
According to the statement released, the draws will be controlled via a software system built by UEFA’s partner, AE Live. This program has undergone thorough evaluation to assure the seamless integration of internal and external systems, resulting in accurate and dependable results. Furthermore, Ernst & Young, an external auditor, assessed the entire draw process to guarantee randomness and compliance with the draw regulations. The 2024/25 UEFA Champions League season will span from Tuesday, July 9, 2024, to Saturday, May 31, 2025.
